Eckart Sager

Eckart Sager

An award-winning producer/director, Eckart Sager has spent more than a quarter century in various aspects of the media industry, from print and television to strategic communications. During his time as a journalist, Sager interviewed global figures including Bill Clinton, Donald Trump, Bill Gates and Elton John. As President and Founder of Linea Consulting, much of his work has understandably been lower profile but it could be argued, far more influential.

For nearly a decade, Sager worked at CNN in New York and London, where as Senior Manager and Executive Producer he produced one of the television industry’s first advertiser-funded programmes, the top-rated business feature show Business Unusual sponsored by Arthur Andersen. The programme was initially launched across the U.S. and – due to its success – later expanded across the globe on CNN International. He also covered landmark events for the network, including the World Trade Centre Bombing and the Asian Financial Crisis.

Over the years Sager has developed, produced, hosted and distributed high-quality international television programming on broadcasters ranging from CNN and PBS in the U.S. to BBC and Bloomberg in Europe, Al Arabiya in the Middle East, NDTV in India and Star TV in Asia.

Today, he is bringing his network, as well as his television and media expertise to strategic communications, developing and managing national branding and editorial messaging campaigns for governments, corporations and international organisations throughout Europe, Africa and Asia. His unique skillset and renowned energetic client focus are the heart and soul of Linea Consulting’s work. His strengths lie in his global contacts and strategically creative approach, building positive awareness for clients and geo-targeting their message to reach international decision-making, financial and political elites.

Past clients include heads-of-state, government ministries and departments from countries such as Italy, Ukraine, India, Indonesia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Greece, Zimbabwe and South Africa, the European Commission and U.S. Treasury, as well as Special Economic Zones, leading corporate brands, NGOs and international sports organizations, such as the Association Internationale de Boxe Amateur (AIBA), Microsoft, GE, Signa Holdings, World Wildlife Fund and the World Economic Forum. Most recently, Sager has been spearheading the launch of an internationally-recognized film academy in Baku.

Eckart Sager is the recipient of numerous awards, including the “Overseas Press Club of America” for his CNN Special on The New Europe and the “Prix Italia” for IHT World, a programme linked to the International Herald Tribune, as the best TV programme covering business, financial and economic news.
